Magadan Region’s gold output to reach 51 tonnes in 2021

MAGADAN, Dec 9 (PRIME) -- Gold producers of the Magadan Region have produced 48.4 tonnes of gold since January 1, and total 2021 output should reach 51 tonnes, similar to the region’s second largest gold output in the history that was reached in 1945, Magadan Region’s Governor Sergei Nosov said on Thursday at a government meeting.

“In 1942, Dalstroy produced 75 tonnes of gold. We will have a second best result now, we will have produced 51 tonnes by the end of the year, which is about the level of 1945. Silver output contraction has stabilized for the first time in a long time,” he said.

In 2020, the region’s gold output increased by almost 3 tonnes on the year to 49.14 tonnes.
